Arrow "The Skimmer"—Jet-Ski Concept...

While searching for a sailboat with the same name, I stumbled on this "Concept Jet-Ski" (Their words):

Developed in The Netherlands, and Wankel-engine powered, it uses "ground effect" to navigate the waters. (And maybe short stretches of swampland or beach).

Quote:
"The Skimmer is like a small jet-ski that runs in the water and can be flown over sea, rivers and lakes, maneuvered moderately by handlebars and partly by stirring one's body weight, like you ride a motorbike. It has a maximum speed of 100 km/h and maximum flying height is 1.5 metres. Roel Verhagen its designer considers the Skimmer concept as a participant in the 2005 Braun Prize."

While "Ground Effect" isn't new, it was perfected over water with "The Ekranoplan".

No need for Bizer's Winnipesaukee chart with "The Skimmer"...
