Bill filed to prohibit fishing tournaments
According to news reports, a bill has been filed in the NH House of Representatives to prohibit fishing tournaments in NH lakes.
The bill calls for prohibiting fishing tournaments year round. The bill's sponsor, Pesce D'Aprile (I-Salmon Falls) feels that the release of fish after a weigh-in over-populates the lakes in the release area, ultimately reducing the quality of the fishery. For the complete text of the bill, click here.

I wonder if D'Aprile tried to launch while a tournament was going on and couldn't find a parking spot

Wait a minute! I don't know Italian, but that name did sound awfully "fishy" being April fool's day and all

Actually not a joke.
Someone tried to pull this bill before during the SL debates. It went ITL. 'Inexpedient to legislate'. It was introduced by one of the representatives when a certain lawyer in Gilford who had a beef with bass tournaments HQ next to his lake front property. Be careful what you wish for!
