Chimney Sweeps
I did a search and found that all the threads on Chimney Sweeps are pretty old... And well I am in the market to have the Chimney Swept. So I am looking for recommendations. I did do some searching and found the following names:
Country Sweeps --- Out of Wolfeboro --- been reviewed here all positive Alton Chimney Service --- Out of Alton --- Didn't get good reviews here Ye Ole Sweeps --- out of Bristol Ossipee Valley Chimney Sweep --- out of Chocoura Heritage Enterprises --- Out of Moultonborough The first two seem to have been reviewed here, but the other three have not... Does any one have experiences good or bad with any of these outfits lately. Thanks

Chimney Sweeps
Although I have not had a chimney cleaned by "The Country Sweep", I do feel Dan Richardson is a fine person and I am confident you would be satisfied with the cleaning job.

I use Dan and he is prompt, reasonable, and does a great job. Very neat as well. Puts down drop cloths and slips on shoe covers. Usually booked out 3 to 4 weeks in season. Memo to self. Call Dan and get an appointment.

Just had our cleaning done by Dan Richardson at the Country Sweep 569-6498, and was very pleased. Great job...no mess...I'll be calling him again next time.

I second patman. I just had him this morning and he did an excellent job, very pleasant and extremely clean. This was my first encounter with him, but it defiantly will not be my last.

Remembered my memo to self from an earlier post...
...and did call and get an appointment. Dan actually called a little earlier than the appointment, but then again he as almost directly across the street. He came right over, job done quickly and like Patman... no mess. We will see him again next year.

He did the same for me a couple weeks back. He and his sidekick Joshua are good guys.

Thank you . . .
We're new to this area and, based on posts on the Winnipesaukee Forum, we arranged to have The Country Sweep clean and inspect our flues. As reported here, Dan Richardson and Joshua Button were absolutely professional, extremely personable, and did a wonderful job. The work was done right, on time, no mess, and we found their rates to be very competitive.
A big "thank you!" to all of you who posted your recommendations here for a very solid lead on a reliable service provider. |

One more for Dan Richardson and Country Sweep...
... they clean our chimney annually, always do a great job, and reasonably priced. Once every few years they also clean our dryer vent - it helps a lot with efficiency of the drier.

Country Sweep
Also used Dan Richardson at Country Sweep just this week. Work was scheduled immediately. Professional, clean and reasonable price.

The Country Sweep
We're new to the area. Last summer we had Dan Richardson clean our chimneys (four flues, two fireplaces) and install a large chimney cap on this house. We couldn't have been more pleased.

Lakes region chimney pro has been great to deal with. I would recommend people to stay away from Fire N Stone in Tilton.

Country Sweep
I have used the Country Sweep twice and have been very happy with them. Dan and Josh are efficient and professional, and their prices are very reasonable. On the last visit, they also cleaned our dryer and dryer vent -- something to think about, since dryer lint is a major cause of residential fires.

Dan Richardson
As a result of the many good references that have been posted here on the forum over the past several years for Dan Richardson (The Country Sweep), I hired Dan this fall to clean our wood stove flue. He and his technician Josh did the job today.
All the positive things that have been said here about Dan are absolutely correct. He and Josh are real pros, including putting covers on their shoes before they come into your house. The job was done professionally, and both Dan and Josh are very good to work with. Dan's price for the job was very competitive as well. I am glad to add my recommendation to those that others have posted here in the past.
