Default Jersey Pike

First time I've been on the pike durring holiday traffic and I learned my lesson.Traffic was very heavy, but moving well until we hit a 20 mile backup which took almost two hours to get through. We figured it must have been a huge accident .....until we reached the source of the problem. You New Yorkers already probably know this, but I sure didn't.
Somewhere around exit 10, the three truck lanes (packed) merge with the three auto lanes (packed) and you have 6 lanes going into 3.
Now,any old yankee knows that you can't attach a two inch pipe to a four inch pipe.....and the same principle applies. What were the engineers thinking?
Never again. I'm using route 81 from now on.

Default Jersey Pike Parking-lot

I understand the mess you were in. I am at exit 9 area and go over the pike several times a day. This is not only holiday traffic. At exit 8A it goes down to three lanes. If you live in the area you know the other roads to avoid this mess., Hope you had a good holiday.
