Default Ice ready up North?

Is it possible to get from 19/20 Mile Bay area to Melvin Village on the ice yet? ....or is there another way onto the trail system from that area?

Anyone know how the ice in Salmon Meadow Cove is? I'm hoping to ride the ice just in the cove today (It's the easiest way to access the trails I've heard). I'm new to the cove and this is my first year sledding here. My house camera caught sleds on the ice over the past few days but not sure its safe yet.

I'm going up and will share what I learn today, but hoping someone knows so I don't learn anything the hard way Happy New Year all!

Probably not the update you are looking for but rode on Salmon Meadow Cove today and took a few ice depth samples. 10-12 inches of ice. Felt solid everywhere but stayed away from no wake buoy as the channel is still open water. I haven't rode on Winni in a decade so please tell me if you think I'm taking too big of a risk. Thanks and happy new year!

Here's the MODIS satellite picture from today (Monday Jan2). Looks like the north east part of the Winny, Alton Bay, Winter Harbor, Paugus Bay, Lees Pond, Waukewan, Kanasatka, Squam and Ossipee Lake are locked in nicely. Center Harbor looks pretty good too. Hopefully the freezing weather starting Wednesday night will finish the job.

Plenty of snowmobiles, four wheelers and shacks on 19 and 20 mile bays. Ice is 6-7 inches in general

The airport manager of the Alton Bay Ice Runway reported yesterday that the ice in and around the bandstand in the bay was 5-8 inches, same as at the end of the last cold snap, except now it is covered with several inches odds snow and slush.
