Default Sunday Jan 17th gov to timber island

Hi,

Just a quick report on the governor's / stonedam / timber island bay.
We've been fishing all day on the north side of gov island, ice is 6 to 9 inches, we've seen over a dozen 4 wheelers and a few snowmobiles go by. The ice has been void of snow for the most part, but it's snowing pretty heavy now and i think steerage will improve greatly by morning. There are several bob houses down past timber and one just set up off the gov island beach.

The kids brought in a nice rainbow and a laker this morning, then just one other bite late afternoon, but too small.

it's a bit of a white out on the ice now. We might put a few sleds on the ice tomorrow but just putt around here where we're fishing. We can see, from a distance, there's a preasure ridge going out from gov island, I think it winds it's way over to stonedam.

The skating has been really good all day. You could probably skate all the way to wolfboro. We'll have to shovel off a rink to morrow...

Cheers, David
