Arrow Swimming with COVID-19...

'Kinda surprised a pool's chlorine takes 1/2-hour to kill COVID-19.

But swimming in general--lake, pool, river, or ocean--won't get you infected.

As soon as you get out, however, all the protective rules are back in play!

That’s probably because they tell you to wait 30 minutes before you go into the pool after you add the chemicals because it takes that long for everything to mix in together with the water.

Exclamation Still More Advice from CDC...

News item: Wear a mask if you're swimming in a pool...
Quote:
"You Go To The Pool This Summer The CDC Says You Should Wear A Mask

As the weather heats up, many Americans are eager to go outside after spending the past couple of months on lockdown. While crowded swimming pools with parents sunbathing on lounge chairs while their kids play in the water is a summer tradition for many, the experience will be a bit different this summer because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has provided guidelines so that when pools reopen, they can reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. The agency recommends that people wear masks when they go to the pool, but said you shouldn't wear one while swimming.

The CDC advised pools to rearrange deck furniture so that people can stay at least six feet apart from each other. They suggested that pool-goers refrain from sharing items like towels and pool noodles.

While in the pool, swimmers will be expected to follow social distancing guidelines and stay at least six feet from other people in the water.

The CDC said that guidelines should not be enforced by lifeguards because they need to be focused on keeping people in the pool safe.

The agency said that while there is no evidence that the coronavirus can be spread by pool water, the biggest risks come when people congregate outside of the water..."

With all of the gyms closed Peloton stock went from about $26 to about $45 in the last three months.

Maybe it is time to go all in on Weight Watchers stock?

Anyone know what the water temp is? I don't know if I will get hot enough to attempt a swim this weekend.

Default .... check out the mono-fin made by Finis

It's about 54-degrees and anything colder than 60 definitely needs a wet suit.

How to lose all that covid, downtime fat gained while hanging around the house and eating too much?

For about 60 dollars, get a yellow Finis mono-fin which is one fin that holds both feet together and really changes the dynamics for swimming. It forces you to do a full body, wiggle stroke and turns you into a mermaid/merman.

Lose the fat, swimming with a mono-fin.

It is just too easy to ask if that is below your waist.

I had a laugh out loud moment. I think you meant "waist" not "waste." I had a pretty gross image.

Question Too Late for Legislating? Suspending?

Now that New Hampshire has recently increased tubing capacities--allowing for six people at once--how will that affect "social-distancing" concerns?

It's a piece of cake as long as you have one of those tubing logs that's 45 ft long (extra length allows for a reasonable margin of error. )

If you edit your own post, a message appears at the bottom letting readers know it's been edited- the poster is required (asked?) to type in the reason for editing.

So, even though the post didn't include the word, grammer was typed in for the reason.

That's why I thought it was funny!
