"Miss Meredith"
Was casually, dining on the waterfront in Merideth this evening when this vintage mahogany boat with huge lettering on the side "Miss Meredith" made a pass through the bay...I would think that this area of the bay (200 ft out from where the river comes in from Mills Falls) would be a NO WAKE zone.
Anyway, the boat came across the town docks and made a right hand loop in front of Lago and continued on its way at quite a good clip with a very noticeable wake. Please correct me if I am mistaken about the NWZ... |

Some People
If my boat was docked in the area and getting knocked around by the excessive wake in a NWZ I wouldn't be too happy.

When I see blatant disregard of any law being displayed, in a apparent flamboyant fashion, which this was, I will call it to attention in any way I can. Maybe the driver of the boat will see this and think twice about "show boating" his pride and joy around the lake. I happen to obey the rules when operating on land or water. |

I sent them an email about the situation...
And received this reply: Don - how are you doing? Thank you for reaching out and showing your concern. We were doing a photoshoot yesterday for our new offering. Goal was to do this at a time with little traffic in the Bay. I can assure you that our captains will abide by all NH Boating Laws. Thanks again for connecting! Miss Meredith has a secret....
I am not one for renaming boats... Call me superstitious! Even more disturbing, renaming a Significantly Historic Boat! Formerly known as the Alalou II, one of the most famous triple cockpit RACERS!!! Oh the irony. Rusty, owns a Race boat....

Makes sense
That is why I carry a camera aboard at all times. The rules do not apply!
If that doesn't work I show them my "Police Immunity" card! Good to go! |

This thread reminded me of this old thread about similar encounters with the Millie B. I also had a very similar experience with her.
Could it be the same Captain? |

And yes I always mix up the spelling of Meredith...what of it? Any "locals" that want to extend any kind of "courtesy" to me are welcome...I give back tenfold, happily. |

This thread really cracks me up.....
With the name on the side of the boat, if you where really upset about a maneuver it made, the first thing you do is call the Marine Patrol.... In a case like this where it is used in a commercial endeavor the Marine Patrol knows the boat... they will take care of the situation and that will be the end of it... HillCountry, What did you expect for a response from the Owner??? He acknowledged what he did, and why he did it.... He never said it was acceptable or not... just that is what he did.... If you where really that upset... go to the Marine Patrol with all the information you have in hand.... And let them deal with it if they choose..... Bottom line here..... Anyone that thinks they never violate a rule on the road or on the water, is kidding only themselves.... We are human and by nature make mistakes... if the mistake is really that unforgivable by others, then it needs to be mentioned to the authorities who can deal with the indiscretion. If not anything we do is simply blowing air to the wind...... Forums where not meant to be gripe sessions... but some here I guess think they are.....

Gripe? You crack me up...Some here feel the same way I did and some don't...I'm not arguing a point with anyone because opinions on these forums are like A-holes...everyone has their own. I contacted the "offender's" boss and he replied with an excuse and a statement about his operator's behavior like any business owner would. I dropped it there and relayed the reply. End of story in my book. |

Not that it matters but isn't it Scott that sponsors the annual Pond Hockey Tourney?
