Default Vida-at-the-Lake, Meredith

Had a great experience eating at Vida-at-the-Lake, (Mexican restaurant), on Main Street in Meredith last evening. We first tried it for a snack last Saturday afternoon when we were doing some shopping on Main St. We sat on their deck and split a chicken quesadilla, which was excellent and thought, "we need to try this for dinner".

We arrived a little before 6 and only 1 other table was occupied, but within 20 mins or so, the place was full. As soon as we sat down, the chips and salsa were on the table. I had the steak fajita and the Mrs had a chicken quesadilla. Both came with rice and beans. Portions were huge, (the leftovers are for lunch today), and came out fast and piping hot. Service was very good and we were in and out in just under an hour.

I'm not a big Mexican food fan but I have been there a half dozen times and it's been great. I go by there a few times a day and it's always busy.

I keep hearing good things about this place and have now added it to my list for next season!

Thanks for the tip.

Mexican food has become popular in the last few years. It appears the New Hampshire palate is beginning to appreciate spicier food.

We may be on our way to Indian food next.....Mmmmmm!

Default Other VIDA locations

I ate at VIDA in the Weirs and the one in Portsmouth. Both are exceptionally good. Portsmouth has a bit more upscale atmosphere. Of course.

Not sure if they are all related.

I have to respectfully disagree.

I ate at the Weirs location in August and it was not good.

The beans and rice lacked flavor, and the beef was tough: I spit out a few pieces of gristly beef.

Then again, living primarily "Out West" I am used to good quality Mexican food because we have a bunch of Mexicans out here.

I give Vida props for trying, but they need to up their game.

I hate Mexican food! BUT love theirs!
Went because the wife, she likes Mexican, it was a hostage situation.
Everything I have had has been excellent. I even ask now, you want to go to Vida?
We even got a quart of the red sauce that goes on a ?????? (that’s how little I thought about Mexican food) and made a killer seafood chowder out of it!

We ate there on Friday night, got there early, about 5pm. When we left the place was packed. Good food, good drinks, good service, and reasonable prices.
We heard that they were going to take over the Lakeside Grill location but not Mexican, I was hearing a hibachi stye restaurant.
