Talking Another Wolfeboro Question...

...I'll be up there starting tomorrow for a month and have a question.

Is there a store anywhere in the Wolfeboro area that has a good selection of health products (protein powders, vitamins, supplements, etc.)?

Thanks in advance!!

Evergrain, under the Nordic Skier, between The Restaurant 03894 and the Chocolate shop.

There is a health food store there - Evergrain Natural Foods, 45 North Main St. They don't have a lot in the way of protein powder and shakes. Not a lot on the supplement end of things, either. They do have a good selection of herbs, herbal remedies, etc. - more homeopathic stuff.

I have the impression you're either a powerlifter or bodybuilder - am I close? I used to train for powerlifting and was on a very high protein supplement diet when I was maxing out a routine. If that's the route you're going then usually used EAS, MuscleMilk, Edge, etc. Vitamin World (there's a good one at the Tanger Outlet in Tilton) is probably the best for that - there was a place in Manchester that was good for those things but I think they closed a while back. Ditto for the supplements.

Believe it or not, but there's an Ocean State Job Lot in Ossippee on Route 16 and I have found some great deals there from time to time - but you have to hit it right. They've had some excelling products (EAS mostly) for very little $.

PS
Check with Andy (owner) at Olympia Gym on Varney Road in Wolfeboro for some of this stuff - he'll know what's what in the area, too. That gym was a powerlifting gym years back - the guy who owned it now owns Galaxy in Belmont. Andy has made Olympia more mainstream but it's a great little gym and the membership is very affordable.

Default Thanks Argie

I'm into health and fitness but not a body builder or a power lifter. I just like to take care of myself and I'm trying to gain a little bit more muscle mass by adding a little bit more protein everyday.

But I love the sound of Evergrain. I try to eat "clean" at each meal and a store like this is right up my alley.

Vitamin World in Tilton may have what I'm looking for or I could take a cruise to Ossippee.

I haven't checked out Olympia Gym but I did check out Gordo's and liked the fact that I can use it whenever I need to. Which do you recommend?

Thanks again.

Jay

I like Olympia but that's because we're friends with Andy - super nice guy. We went to that gym before Andy bought it. I stopped going when we had our second baby because it seemed crazy to hire a sitter so I could clank some dumbbells around. Argie (John) still goes on a regular basis.

Default bring your own

I just bring my own supplies. My son has a wheat/dairy sensitivity and I have not found much selection at Evergrain, it is a very small store, like 2 isles of our hometown health food store. Gordo's gym also has some supplements, and I did see a business card there for someone who specializes in nutrition, I can check when I go today.
