Paperwork When Selling PWC/Trailer
I will be selling our PWC and trailer this spring. For anyone that has done this already in NH, did you have to sign a bill of sale or something similar? I don't think I have an actual title to the PWC similar to what we have for cars.
The trailer is registered so I suspect I sign that over via the back of the registration. Maybe just a generic bill of sale for the PWC so I can prove that ownership transferred from me to someone else in case there are issues down the road? Thank you. |

I recently donated a boat and trailer to Habitat for Humanity with a simple Bill of Sale reflecting the transfer as a donation. Presumably, the same reflecting the transaction as a sale should work for you.

A basic bill of sale is needed. There is no title involved, a pwc trailer does not meet the GVWR and axle limits to require titling in NH. The certificate of origin is not needed, although helpful if selling out of state as other states may title this.
The bill of sale should contain contact information and be signed by both parties. It should have make, model, GVW and VIN#, and sales price included. Make sure it is dated as well. Include a copy of the registration. There is no place to sign the back of the new style registrations in NH. I have one sitting on my desk. |
