Default Trails are closed ***12/11/09***

********REMINDER*********
All snowmobile trails are currently closed in the State of NH. Official date of Opening is 12/15/09, pending Landowner permission/Snowmobile Clubs-Org/ and adequate snow coverage.
Please remember would we not have most of our trails if it were not for the Landowners in THE LAKES REGION.

There have been serveral sightings of people on the trails in this area cutting rope/gate locks!!

Check out this thread on HCS. Glad they got him, and nobody got hurt, except maybe his freedom. Also appreciated the comments by Major Tim Acerno, he is a good guy.

I just do not understand this!

Every single year idiots ruining the sport for everyone else! Why? Do they not understand how fragile the whole system is? One landowner can shut down miles and miles of trails and it will cripple the system. GET A CLUE PEOPLE!!!

Default When are the trails expected to open?

With the heavy snow and wind many trails in other locations are still closed due to trees down etc. What are the conditions for the Meredith area?

The problem with early season riding in the Meredith area is the RR tracks are not open until early January and the lakes/ponds, which many trails use, are not frozen. I have maybe a foot of snow on the ground in Meredith right now. IMO we need another foot before we can even think of riding locally.

thanks for the update. We will just have to wait a while longer to test out the new machine. I guess we will bring the skis and go to Gunstock this weekend and leave the snowmobile in the trailer for a while longer.
