Smallmouth fishing has been great! Fishing the edges of the flats and extended points has produced good quantities and qualities of fish. Top water action is at it's finest with smallmouths taking poppers and divers. Soft jerk baits are also working. Small spinner baits and swimming grubs have also brought fish to the boat. On the fly fishing side cork and deerhair poppers, streamers, and "clouser" type minnows have been hot. This pattern should hold for at least another week or two depending on the whims of "Mother Nature".

Here's something my father told me a long time ago.
Smallmouths are males and the Bigmouths are females!!! My mother was not amused! Now!!! I didn't say that, my father did!!! Just thought I'd through that in! CEP |
