Default Lyons Den

Having lived here most of my life, I've never been to this place. Heard about it, read about it, (here). We've received a gift cert and plan on going soon. Short of calling, what should we expect? Dress, reservations, menu recs, etc?

Thanks.

Their French onion soup is great, as are their chicken wings. I’m a steak girl, and they’ve always cooked it exactly to order. If they have it, I’ve heard rave reviews about their duck. I’m not a seafood girl, but I hear their crab cakes and chicken lobskar are excellent. I watched three companions have a gustatory orgasm over one of their seafood specials, but can’t remember which one. You’ll definitely want to make a reservation, by the window overlooking the docks if possible. Dress is typical for any of the restaurants in the area, casual but not grungy is fine.

Yes, go soon because you'll want to go back. Specials are always really special. Be careful with the rolls. Very hot. Reservations are a must most nights. The dining room isn't huge, so you can see the lake from many tables, not just window seats. I favor the artichoke hearts/cheese en casserole as an appetizer.

Simply stated -- Lyon's Den is one of the BEST !!

Menu, staff, ambiance, no rush dining, and of course the patrons (like us) who will be there enjoying it with you.

We have been in the area for a long time but typically end up down in Meredith at Giuseppe's if we are going out to eat from the island. Up until recently we had only been to Lyon's Den a few times.

We just got back from a weeks vacation at the island and went there twice. The food was outstanding! The first time my wife and I had pasta (crema rosa seafood pasta and alfredo seafood pasta). My daughter had steak tip alfredo, my middle son had chicken parm and my 11 year old destroyed a king size order of prime rib!

Meal was so good we went back on the following weekend, this time focused on the prime rib. Amazing food. I am sure we will be back again soon for more.

Always have had excellent meals at Lyons Den. That is the result when real chef's are preparing food. Looking forward to going to Lyons Den later today. Impossible to fault the staff for pleasantness and efficiency. This family restaurant really cares and it shows.
T-Bones also has a chef who plans the menu.

We had a wonderful dinner tonight. I must ask what do they put on the salad. Carrots have a wonderful sweet taste. Portions are exemplary. I had broiled scallops and took 3 home for the boys (poodles), don't tell them they are dogs.
My wife had baked stuffed shrimp, her favorite although I thought she might order the surf and turf , petite fillet and shrimp.
Staff were fantastic as usual. Kudos to the kitchen.
