I’ll make a reservation right now! Promise me something...no soy products or “veegan” crap...no barriers or graffiti...guns, concealed and open carry welcomed, and lots of beef on the menu! Oh and might as well throw in happy waitresses in hot pants welcoming their 50% tips!

You can count on it, Hill! Katie Pavlich will be head of security. She knows how to handle guns and soy boys, and won’t take crap from anyone. Political correctness will be left at the door. Loud bikes and bikers also welcome!

I was talking to a coworker and we were reminiscing about what we were told on March 15th -- that we need to flatten the curve to prevent an overwhelming of our healthcare system. This morphed into where we stand today where businesses are destroyed, along with our civil liberties. The goalposts are constantly moving and we are like sheep, just following along. And if we protests the government's action as in Michigan, we are condemned. Yet, those who wanted to riot and loot got a free pass to do so.

Back to the topic of restaurants opening, we enjoyed a great afternoon on Saturday at the Naswa and lunch with friends at Canoe on Sunday. I am looking forward to this week -- one more step back to normalcy.
If you're going to Monday Morning Quarterback--one of my favorite activities--you need to look at the scoreboard. By following the advice of experts, New York, Mass, and many other places did flatten the curve. So let's not criticize them now by saying there's no science behind the shutdown

Speaking of being a MMQ--I can't resist--in March you were telling us that this is no worse than the flu. It's obvious now that there was nothing behind this other than your hopes and politics.

I hope you are now right that it's safe to open, but I think we'll continue to see the faster openers being the most infected areas

Worldwide, the numbers support a bad flu year or similar to H1N1 virus. In the U.S., the numbers are obviously inflated, since nearly every death since March 1st has been deemed a Chinese coronavirus death. To support this position, please tell me the number of deaths attributable to the regular flu during 2019-2020. You can't. The numbers aren't available. They are being lumped in with Chinese coronavirus deaths. Same with deaths from hospice, nursing homes, retirement facilities, etc.

I am not diminishing the severity of this historically bad flu. However, the numbers support that our response was a complete and utter overreaction, driven by our media and social media.

Of course it is safe to open. If it's safe enough to riot and loot in our major cities, I think it's safe enough to open a restaurant, hair salon, stores, etc.

Worth a read about comparing COVID numbers to flu. Yes, it is an opinion piece. No, I am not taking a position one way or the other about what we did or didn't do, should or shouldn't have done, and steps for the future.

Max Baer had been trying for about 30 years to open a Hillbillies themed casino.

I can’t tell if you’re serious. At the time, 1983, my fraternity brothers saw a 6’ 2” 210-pound guy who wore jeans and flannel shirts, and was from central New Hampshire. They didn’t know me well enough to know I was stupid!
