Nice drive. I noticed that at the end of the "drive" another video starts on Thelake.tv. I haven't been to the Weirs in years but I noticed the Bumper Cars "store". Is that where the candlepin bowling was located once? Or is further down the block?

Default Fast trip

That was a great video/fun to watch. I have a fairly new Panasonic HX-WA03 video cam that, I think, can do something similar but I've got to figure it out. Sometimes I wish it was that quick when I drive up from Beverly. It got me thinking. It's approximately 100 miles from Boston to Weirs (according to Google). My wife's nephew pilots a Boeing EA-18G Growler out of Whidbey Island Navel Air Station in Washington state. Top speed listed at 1181 mph. It would take him about 11 minutes to make the trip. Fast enough in my book!

Very cool! I love the fact that you took 106. My wife thiniks it quicker from exit 20 to get to Gilford from down south. No way, 106 is faster!!! You proved my point, it only took you one minute!

I'm in Laconia, the video was great because it goes right by my street and you took the route I would take.

I have driven 106 a zillion times and I can tell you the drive to Laconia is only slightly faster than going exit 20 through Tilton without traffic but much quicker if there is any chance of seasonal traffic.

We had family that left here on Labor Day weekend during peak traffic. One car load left at noon, they never take 106, and drove through Tilton. The next family left 45 minutes later and took 106. About 40 minutes later I get a call saying they were just behind the family that left 45 min earlier than them!

My GPS wants me to go up to exit 20 so that route must be a little shorter but I never go that way unless I need to make a stop at the outlets or BJ's. Going up 106 bypasses the exit 20 congestion and it a much nicer ride IMHO. 106 also has a lot to offer: Dunkin Donuts, cheap gas, a casino, fireworks, bathrooms and a ride by NHIS. I'll always take 106 unless there is a race at NHIS that weekend.

I also wanted to add that I made a similar time-lapse of the ride all around the lake. I'll have that done and posted in the next few days.

Default Rush Hour

Definitely not done during rush hour or holiday weekend. I used my old Garmin GPS Map 76 to record my trip from NC to Center Harbor, but it stopped collecting data points somewhere around NYC.

Default Go Pro

These little cameras are really fun !
We gave one to each of our 3 older ( and Married ) children for Christmas and we are now getting a series of great candid stills and movies to look at .

They seem to bring out new creative ideas in photography and have reduced the amount of work it takes to get great shots
Great to see some of the stuff people are coming up with .

I love taking 106 but in the summertime on a Saturday its brutal, always seem to get behind the one slow driver who is checking out every yard sale along the way.

More importantly, you can stop for some great ice cream at Jordan's along the way to or from.

I like the video too because it picks up Rt. 93 right by my street in Boston.
