If you want an awesome ice-cream treat.

Try walking into the Common Man Camp Restaurant and ask for a Take Out "Snow Ball". It's in Meredith across the street from the public docks.

It's enough for two people to share.

Hmmm, that S'more looks pretty good too.

The boy and I were driving home from a camping trip (Mead Base Exploration Camp—AWESOME), so we decided to seek out a new place and decided on Jordan's.

We got a Belly Buster bucket with apple pie, blueberry pie, pumpkin, black raspberry, and Heath bar ice creams; hot fudge and peanut butter sauces; butterfinger pieces; and whipped cream.

The apple pie absolutely stood out from the rest, followed closely by blueberry pie.

For $12, it was AWESOME.

I absolutely see why people like it, and I wish it were closer to camp.

Good that you finally made it to Jordan's. The Belly Buster Bucket sounds like about 25 cents per 100 calories

Split two (or more) ways, that's a bargain. Weeks used to have a Mount Washington, 2 bananas, 6 scoops of ice cream and all the rest. Split two ways, whoever got to the middle first won and the loser paid.

L'il Buddy is probably OK, but 400 Jumping Jacks for you, Think.

A hike of Mount Israel and some work at camp (probably) balanced that scale!

Default Not Lakes Region but

Not the Lakes Region, but the Putnam Pantry in Danvers MA has/had the Bunker Hill, 17 scoops of whatever ice cream flavor(s) you wanted, piled up on a platter, served with as many spoons that you need, along with plenty of napkins. Scoops were large. I think you could also get sauces, whipped cream, nuts, cherries, etc..
It's been quite a while since we were there, but it was great with several people sitting around the table with their own spoon.

Now I'm totally interested: any "crazy" places in the Lakes Region? Kellerhaus and Jordan's have cool things, but anyone else?

I remember my Dad and Uncles challenging my Great Aunt to finish one of Weeks Mount Washington banana splits by herself. She accepted the challenge and did complete it one Sunday night before we went to the Weirs to watch fireworks. I remember her lying on the back seat of the car groaning while the rest of us watched the fireworks. Will never forget her face of pain.

Thanks for the update! I'd heard that if they weren't open by the 4th, they wouldn't open at all, so this is great news.

Jboltly: did you go in at Dewey's?
Weekend of the 4th they were not open, w/ a sign on door stating not opening Memorial weekend "supply issues". I hope they are...hard to find sugar free ice cream.

2) Richardson's good, but it's not what the Mass. crowd hypes it up to be.
Giffords in Maine is better.

3)Jordan's... not only good but the creativity of flavors and base products, off the charts.

went in sunday night about 8. mid size line and a lot of crossed out flavors but open and going well.

I went to Bobbie Sue's in freedom earlier in the week and was disappointed in the rum raisin. It was like plain vanilla with raisins. good quality tho

Never got to Dewey's, but here's my family's top 5 ice cream ranking for ±20 minutes from the lake:

#1 ice cream: The Maple Creamery
#1 sundaes: Liliuokalani's

#2: Eldridge Family Sugar House (Tamworth)

#3: Jordan's (Belmont)

#4: Bailey's Bubble

#5: Kellerhaus

Big difference between soft serve and hard ice cream.

Soft Serve: 1) Baileys Bubble 2) Liliuokalani

Hard Ice Cream: 1) Town Docks 2) Jordan’s 3) Kellerhaus 4) Dewey’s

Additionally Town Docks has hands down the best hot fudge.

BTW: I’m a professional, I owned and ice distribution company back in the early 90s

We're in the same universe except for Town Docks. We've been half a dozen times, and that place isn't even in the top 10.

Your judgment is now SUSPECT.

The true test is always vanilla it’s the base for most flavors. Have you tried theirs?

This summer Sawyer’s has been a good backup for Lily’s. Just yesterday there were 30 people in line for an hour and a half at 7:00 P.M. They have blueberry-flavored hard ice cream with frozen blueberries evenly embedded throughout.

On our way north on Rt 106 today we noticed that Jordan's was open. We zipped in for an early fix of their black raspberry. Brisk business with most parking spaces taken. Like us, may cars hit the brakes as they saw the open sign.
