Lily Pond Ice-out status?
Hi, I seem to recall Lily Pond in Gilford is pretty accurate predictor of Winni’s Ice-out. I believe its ice-out is consistently 10-14 days before Winni. Can anyone up there provide a Lily pond update, and/or photos?

I believe it's more like 7-8 days after Lily Pond goes out. See, now you have something more to look forward too. |

I haven't checked to see the state of Lily Pond today, but I know there was more open water yesterday (March 26th) than seen in the photos by Jeanbz1 above back on the 21st. |

Just a small amount of ice today on the east side of Lily. Also Belknap point view, ice is getting dark. Maybe tomorrow's wind will have a say.

Oh Wow!
Alan, quite a bit of ice disappeared since yesterday morning! If 10-14 days holds that still puts Ice Out somewhere between April 6th to April 10th.

Is the ice at a point where it can move with the wind yet? I see 20 MPH winds coming tomorrow. If the ice is moving while still solid we could be looking at quite a few broken docks. I cross my fingers this time every year.

Very Little Ice Left
I drove by Lily Pond this afternoon (~2:45PM) and I saw the last of the ice against the western shore (Walmart side). A thin patch of maybe 60 feet long and 20 feet wide was pushed up against the shore.
The wind certainly helped despite the below freezing temperatures. The wind was strong enough to generate whitecaps on the pond. |

I had to drop off my boat at Winnisquam Marine at Lake Winnisquam this morning. Ice was gone off the southern part of Lake Winnisquam to just north of the bridge.
