New boat registrations
Taking a line from the Steve Martin movie(The Jerk) and phonebooks...
The new boat registrations are here, the new boat registrations are here. Feeling like Spring already. |

It's kind of easy to figure the colors out, the state rotates the same 4 colors, green, blue, orange and red.

Kidding If anything, keep copies of what ever paper work that might help you prove you have paid your renewal and the sticker is in the mail. Even showing this thread could help explain a late registration, if the officer is understanding. Not to start a war here, even though the local gov. is in a non boating area due to its season, shouldn't they be prepared for any type of expiring registration at the time it becomes illegitimate and not when the season becomes active. Honestly I've never thought about until TiltonBB's scenario has become a real time issue. The current system may need a little tweek in order to keep the boating community legit if boating out of state. Have fun in FL Ps. Protect those toes. |

Not trying to be a jerk but why would one give your money to somebody to hold for 4 months?

Or, if you did the math, an average registration fee might be about $100. I would rather get it out of the way now than worry the 33 cents in interest I might get for the next four months at the 1% rate banks are paying today. |

Here we go again ??? I don't understand how some have their paperwork already and I have not seen anything in the mail as of yet. I don't get why they cannot mail the stuff to every boat owner at the same time...or am I the victim of snail mail AGAIN ???? Anyone else in the same "boat" ??

New Printer

I wonder if anyone at a state level noticed, or cared, how hard they are to read. If you get stopped on the water it will be hard for the Marine Patrol officer to read in the bright sunlight. |

Registered my boat today at City Hall. Now if only the weather would warm up a bit.
Actually I am very excited as I have been out of boating for too long and I just bought a boat last week. After I registered it, I stopped in to get my bow numbers printed up at Gator Signs in Gilford. They did them while I waited and they told me that if I wanted to I could swing by with the boat in the Spring and they would put the bow numbers on for me with no extra charge. Nice people there; very professional. Is it ice-out yet?

Nh boat registration
The Citizen 1/3/15 " Laconia,as one of only a handful of state approved agent locations that process boat registration" (City hall). Last year I could mail it in,Get it at the Gilford town hall or Silver Sands. Has that change?

I don't know about Gilford but I was able to do mine at Laconia City Hall. If you were able to do it last year in Gilford, I would doubt that it has changed. I'm sure someone on here will know for sure.

Winter/spring hikers should renew early. The new hike safe cards are redundant if you have valid NH boat registration. So if you are a boater and a hiker you can save the $25.

2015 Mooring Permits
While I finally received my boat registration last week .... I still have not received my mooring permit renewal notice for 2015. My recollection is that the mooring renewal typically arrived in early Dec in advance of the boat registration. I'm beginning to get concerned that I may have chucked it out thinking that it was junk mail (although I find that hard to believe). Has anyone else received their mooring renewal paperwork yet? If it doesn't arrive soon .... who would I contact about it? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Extra tax to keep boat fee local
Since last year, Moultonborough has begun handling boat registrations, and with any re-registration info (eg. automobile) they send out they include this one covering the option to have them handle your boat registration:
http://www.moultonborough.org/Pages/...g/3012_001.pdf As noted in the state RSAs (http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/rsa/...-e/270-E-5.htm), if the boat registration is processed by an agent who is not an employee of the state's department, then that agent can tack on an extra five bucks to the boat fee and keep it for their effort. Moultonborough wants to keep the boat fee local, and they want to tax you another five bucks to do it! Where is the incentive to let the town keep the money? |

No extra fee in Moultonborough
Got boat registration a couple weeks ago. Went up to Lake to pay real estate taxes and get boat registration. Didn't charge extra fee. A lot of money went out of my hands yesterday. Went to camp to check things out and put the boat stickers right inside my door. All I have to do now is wait for spring, no worries about misplacing them. Nice day yesterday, like it cool.
