W ell almost, yesterday afternoon there was two 20' bowrider type boats, one big contruction barge, and get this, a big powerfull, noisy, orange & white Coast Guard helicopter, all at the same time.

Passing about 100' above the water, it traveled from north to south around Timber Island and beyond. Maybe it was enroute from Lake Champlain or the Great Lakes to Boston, or somewhere, who knows? A totally different animal than the news copters.

Not really, when I was traveling towards Laconia on Route 11 the day after Thanksgiving we saw several boats out on the lake. I sure hope they were dressed for the weather.

Default last voyage for the year

Went out to the island today by boat for the last time this season, next trip will be on foot over the ice... finished closing things up and put the webcams on their 'winter' settings... a beautiful day on the lake, hated to haul out the boat, but ice is beginning to form around the edges and Center Harbor bay is pretty well iced in...

cheers PIG

Pine Island Guy:

Did you see any other boats or were you alone?

Default all alone

Second Curve -

didn't see another soul (or boat) on the water... it's always fun being out there solo, although this time of year always mindful of "what can go wrong" especially in a 14' boat! We usually drop it back in as soon as the ice pack starts melting in the spring
