I have a 2018 GTI. I never paid attn to the coolant reservoir before but noticed there was barely anything in the tank ( engine was cold at the time, hadn’t used for a couple of days). Not Normal, I had a GTI (2009).... Never saw the reservoir empty.... I would start looking for the obvious...... but it could also be the not so obvious. As I recall, the "radiator" was the ride plate......which means there are likely fittings and seals that could be slowly leaking... gravity slowly takes over..... and those tanks don't hold much.....
