I bought a plastic single step stool at Walmart that sits on the cockpit deck at the back of my center console. If i remember, it was about 10 bucks. I step on the gunwale the on the step then to the deck. I’m 230 to 240 (depends on the day of the week
) and it has lasted for 3 years now.Sent from my iPhone using Winnipesaukee Forum mobile app |

A few years back when we had our bow rider, I got this folding 2-step stool that worked well ( and you didn't have to step down on the cushion). You just put a hand on the bimini frame and it was an easy entry.

...25" at the end of the dock yesterday afternoon. Yikes!
![]() Time to call it a boating season today before there is any damage, (which stinks because we are in a great stretch of weather) |

I remember how low the lake was in 2016. The Mount couldn't go into Wolfeboro, the Sophie ran aground and boats were stuck on lifts. The level today is 503.1 feet and was at 502.8 on this date in 2016. So we're about 3.6 inches higher than 2016 with no rain in the 10 day forecast. October could be trouble.

Are you on the mainland? If you are at least being at the lake is almost as good as being on the lake. We're lucky that we have enough water at our dock on Bear but it would be a shame to have to close early. People on the east side of the island have really shallow water to deal with. We noticed several people have boats on moorings. Not sure if that's due to the water level or to protect from pounding from the Broads.

Pontoon boats are great this time of year when the water is getting shallow at the dock! Very little draft at the bow and simply raise the outboards as needed at the stern… don’t have to worry about them bouncing off the bottom.
Will probably have to pull my wife’s boat soon as the water at our secondary dock is getting a little low. More of a concern in rough weather and having the bow bounce off the bottom. Living on the west side of Welch we can get some pretty rough days! Dan

The lake is 2.5" lower than the long term average for this time of year. The dam output is at a minimum. I would not see this as a serious issue yet. No, we haven't had significant rainfall for a while but, rainfall tends to balance out over time. Further, temps are expected to drop by Friday, reducing evaporation. The average lake level continues to drop through the Fall.
Every fall, smart boaters are aware that rocks and shallow areas that were not a concern during the summer are now something to be aware of and the problem gets worse through the Fall season. It's a fact of life on Winnipesaukee. |

...drove by there today taking the long way back to Meredith from the Tilton outlets and Winnisquam looked super low. There is very little water at the permanent docks behind "The Dox" restaurant and the sandbar at the bridge near Winnisquam Marine is essentially now an island.
