Given that the dispute between YouTube and Google has been resolved and basic YouTube will still be available for free on Roku devices, I think that Roku with or without an additional subscription like Netflix is unbeatable. It's basically simple, free TV.

The only advantage of Netflix versus Roku is more recent movies. The free YouTube channel on Roku has tons of old movies. But for $9 a month you can throw in Netflix guilt free. I personally find Netflix's own film productions too violent recently.
