We got pounded here in Gilford! Still coming down hard. I’m going to guess 15” so far!

A nasty one out there today for sure. Shane was going to head out to work today and I had to pull the plug on that. Luckily our boats are in the boat house under cover today.

I liked the 8-14 forecast
I liked the 8-14 in forecast. The one picture is out the kitchen window with the snow on top of our oil tank. The other picture shows what looks to be at least 2 ft of snow on top of our kindling box. Ugh.

stay inside...
...I got an email from Stephens Landscaping a short while ago that they are seeing 18"+ at the places they plow around the lake and asked for patience, as it is slow going out there. We are in Bedford for the storm and I would guess we're at around 18"+ here. My daughter is an RN at Concord Hospital and had to be in to work at 7AM this morning. I was snowblowing at 4:30 so she could get out of the driveway and what is normally a 25 or so minute commute from Bedford to Concord took her over an hour and she said there were numerous spin-outs along the way. Luckily, she made it there fine.

I would say 2 feet in Moultonborough is about accurate. I haven't measured. Just going on looks. Saw on NWS Meredith was 32"

Go Gunstock! This is perfect for vacation skiers, snowmobiles, etc. and a good snow pack to fill up the lake in the spring.

I live outside of Boston and we have about 15 to 18 . It's about time we got a real snow storm.. However I'm a teacher and we still had remote classes today.

The area of Meredith where I live always gets "shadowed" by the Ossipees during Noreasters so only 25" at my place. By far the biggest storm I've seen in my 14 years here! These three feet snow totals...man...can you even snowblow that much snow?

Chains
Better than the days when we had to crawl around in the snow to put chains on.

Snow is a foot above the roof stacks. Cleared. No history of ice dams, but this amount of snow does start to concern me. Slow melting is needed

Agree. It’s been a few seasons since we had to worry about snow load and ice dams

The potential heavy snow load is a good sales tool for the installation and justification of metal roofs.

Did the roof a few years back. Put metal on the three season porch. Cost to do the whole house was 23k more then asphalt! Too rich for me

www.waterville.com/cams ...... and looking close, you can see the wet heavy snow getting wind blown around .... local temp 29.5 degrees with big gusts blowing like 30-mph or something, blowing the snow sideways.
It looks a lot calmer up at the ski area than here, about two miles away down at 1800'-elevation with the slushy snow all blow'n around, here? Looks like the Green Peak triple is actually runn'n slowly with a few people on board for its very first day, this ski season.

Gunstock reports 9" overnight. Panorama lift (to top) not operating due to wind.
Here on Long Island, much of my yard and driveway is picked clean by the wind. There are some low drifts. My best guess is maybe 2" right here. Forecast says maybe a few inches more this afternoon. Otherwise this "storm" was a big windbag with little to show for it. YMMV! |

Alton Bay
6 in on the west side of Alton Bay and 200 ft higher than the lake level. Just outside Sandy Point.

This time NJ got slammed.
About 2 feet here in northeast NJ (about 12 miles west of GW Bridge). It snowed from Sunday afternoon till late morning on Tuesday. Luckily I ran the snowblower on Monday when we had 15" of powdery snow. Tuesday when I tried to clear the additional snow & drifts it was like cement. Took 5 hours yesterday to do 80' driveway and 50' sidewalk and driveway apron with my 24" Craftsman snowblower. The 8 hp engine got a workout!
