How long ago was this?

Default Laconia

Utilizing the same method as in my previous post. Laconia has at least 1114 boats.

Meredith - 1412
Laconia - 1114

Lots of really interesting docks and shoreline as I look around.

On to Gilford?

Gilford - 1697 boats
Laconia - 1114
Meredith - 1412

So....three towns down - 4223 boats so far

How many boats did you account for at MVYC & Fay's ………….. I think your method is flawed.

Smile Mvyc

I actually wrote down the MVYC number

It was 244 docks + 160 valet = 404.
I was in the rack system years ago and can't remember if it was 2 or three boats high. I assumed 2.
I didn't count the valet docks and made a guess at the number of boats in the valet racks.

I bet I'm correct within a 100 And if not....it was all for fun.

BTW.....Alton has 1387....so a sub total of 5610 so far.

I have a minute so with the Towns you have labored to count at this point, we have 5.9K boats:

5.9K * 13.6K = 80.2M
5.9K * 80K = 472M

Averaged that give us ~$276M

How do you come-up with these numbers.
I am sure you did not count every single boat.

I have also been curious about gas usage on a summer weekend.
How many gallons ?

As best as I could with the method described earlier in the thread, I counted them. Learned a lot about the lake following every foot of shorefront and have some places to boat to that I've seen on the map that I haven't been to yet.

How did you deal with the islands? At any given time islands boats may be on island or at a marina or at town docks like Glendale or on a trailer or under way.

Mountain View has 284 slips plus trailer boats under 20 feet.

I didn't include the 22 valet docks but I'll claim close enough.

The 284 slips are the slips that have owners. The valet slips are a different story but I would assume that the count you used for valet boats would include that since those slips are not assigned to a specific boat.

Now you just need to sit at the ramps and count the day trippers.

Probably 10 years plus. There are hundreds of posts about speed limits in the Issues section of the Forums. Around 2008, the number of boats on the lake started dropping along with the economy. There were vacancies, auction sales, boats stored, where now there are waiting lists for slips and valet. We are now back up to those numbers I thin k.
