I've played in numerous bands over the course of my life, not all of the names make sense. Started with The Liverpool Gas Company in High School, then Stone Cross in college, then Sweet Misery, Rick Clement and the King's Cross, Friends, Ulterior Motive, Smokin', Not Quite Right, and currently Bend the Ride.

Don't ask me to explain the meaning behind some of these names, but they made sense at the time.
