Also, a quick question: GBG posted above that she supplies fuel from "gas stations off the lake." Is there a benefit to using marine gas in my soon-to-be-new jetski? My sense is that the detergents and convenience (5-gallon cans are a pain and would need 3, towing out of camp = time/meh) may be worth just filling up on the go?
I think besides the convenience factor, the only other benefit is most gas on the lake has an added stabilizer in it. Also almost all gas on the lake is 89 octane also except at Y Landing which offers 93.

If you price 89 octane off the lake I think you will see maybe 40-50 cents per gallon difference without stabilizer. Hardly enough to make it worth lugging around gas containers!!

ACM was $4.09 on average last summer, ~$1.60 more than off the lake.

Remember to wait until January 1. 2020 to send your gas tax rebate form to the state.

One year I mailed mine in December. They mailed it back to me with a letter telling me they would not accept it until January 1st.

That is way more efficient than putting the early ones in a box at the state office and waiting until January 1st to process them!

Your tax dollars at work!

Per Dan's post earlier this morning, two things to remember in comparing gas prices: the octane and additives usually already added. The latter is relatively small change considering the cost of a bottle of additive and the number of gallons treated is relatively small change. The cost of gas per gallon is another thing. Using the Moultonborough Irving, 87 octane today is $2.49 and 89 octane is $2.89, 40 cents per gallon mille than 87 octane. Just make sure you compare apples with apples.

There is a lot to be said for convenience and it's associated price. You may also want to take advantage of price comparisons of the various marinas using winnigas.com . If trailering to other lakes, use the Gas Buddy app to find your best price along the way (and fill up on the way back). In any case, enjoy the new jetski.

Absolutely--convenience will be key here. Anyone know what ACM and MVM use for octane?

Also, YES--I will wait until January 1st. I had the same thing happen last year AND the same response about taxpayer money.

ACM has the highest gas prices on the lake by far and always has! Usually 50 cents per gallon more than anywhere else on the lake!

For example Fays 89 octane was $3.49 per gallon last summer, off the lake on average was $2.99 per...

Like I said, for the convenience I will gladly pay 50 cents more per gallon, get treated gas and have full service by pretty young ladies to boot!!

Its a no brainer in my opinion!!

When I surveyed all the gas docks a year or so ago to be sure I had all the information correct for the WinniGas database, I asked everyone about octane, additives, etc.

I made any notes to each station's notes on https://winnigas.com/liststations

Basically, additives are noted as this tends to vary widely (some use StarTron and others use ValveTect, but one station lists both!) and most supply 89 Octane, but I list any differences for those that prefer higher octane.

Of course, if a gas dock makes any changes from the time of my survey and doesn't report it to me, I can't update the database. This is why I ask people (customers or gas dock owner/operators) to let me know of any changes.

Thanks to everyone that has reported prices into www.WinniGas.com as it helps a lot of boaters on the lake. I've tried to make it as easy as possible to report prices.

Back to the gas tax refund, I also have the some information on this subject here including the required forms:
