I got a quote for $180/hr for two men to install a sliding glass door and replace an old deck. seems excessive, even if it’s on an island. And that doesnt include the cost of the barge, that is a seperate line item on their quote.

I think most carpenters in the area have more work than they can handle. With this in mind, they can submit a high bid and you can refuse. However, there will always be those who will pay what they ask.
