I agree. I replaced all my Honeywells with Nest and they are excellent

TAKE THE THERMOSTAT OFF THE WALL. iF THE UNIT STOPS THEN THE PROBLEM IS THE THERMOSTAT. iF IT CONTINUES TO RUN. mAY BE A SHORT IN THE WIRE OR , GAS VALVE OR RELAY.
