But the lake hasn't warmed up enough!

Now that you're older, you're suggesting NH implement NPZs?

Default Long Ago

We were in the bay and had as many as 7 boats rafted together. MP came in and wrote us all tickets for the violation. I think the fine was $36.75 for each boat. What's the current tariff for having too much fun together with your boating friends?

Wait a minute. As I read that again, I understand it to be not less than 150 when rafted to another boat so I see it as ok to be closer with one.

Look again, SS - See Paragraph 3:

(3) Anchor a single boat and cause it to remain stationary upon the waters of a lake or pond, other than momentarily, if any part of such boat is:

a. Less than 150 feet from shore;

b. Less than 50 feet away from any raft; or

c. Less than 25 feet away from any other single boat which is stationary upon the waters of such lake or pond.

HA! I just saved YOU a ticket...now you owe ME a beer!!

Want to see a lot of boats? Go To Worlds' End in Hull. All kinds of fun. Especially when the new-bies anchor on the sandbar...that wasn't there at High Tide...HEHE

CrownRay....

I've been to Worlds' End in Hull several times, you're right "all kinds of fun" !!!

My brother kept his 33 Cruisers', with twin 450's, docked at the Newton yacht club, and had to drive up the Charles River, through the locks at the Museum of Science, just to get into Boston Harbor, then then a sprint over to 'World's End'.

I can't imagine his gas bill back and forth... Yikes !

Time for the boaters on the lake to organize and lobby to abolish the rafting rules on the lake. Boaters spend more $$$ on this public lake than the crybaby land owners. All in favor of reasonable rules for rafting, but these current restrictions are rediculous!!!

I will assume you are not using the 10s of thousands of dollars these "crybaby land owners" are paying in taxes? Define spending more money?

I agree that the rafting rules are overbearing and may need some changes. However that may result in more noise complaints from property owners.

As far your contention that boaters spend more money on the lake than land owners: Not even close. The average tax bill for property owners on the lake is $20,000 to $40,000 and most property owners use no town services. Just the property tax bill alone is substantially more than what is spent by the majority of boat owners.

Also, most property owners on the lake have at least one boat, and many have several boats so they are spending money there too. Most weekend boaters or non property owners have only one boat so they contribute less in registration fees and maintenance costs than multiple boat owners. That spending also supports the local economy.

Some boats aren't even registered in this state yet use the lake.

Default New rules?

There are 424 Reps and Senators in NH. One of them is either a neighbor or a relative. Call yours and suggest better rules. Be specific, not just "we need better rules". Be quick. The bill filing period for 2018 ends in mid-September. Contact info is on www.NH.gov.
