How stable is this boat in winni waters? Will it cope with weekend chop?

We found that the bench seat was too far aft for proper balance, and with two adults it was difficult to get the boat up on a plane even at full throttle. We had to put a "sand tube" (around 70 pounds if I remember correctly) in the forward anchor compartment in order to get the boat to plane, and even then the passenger had to temporarily move forward in order for the boat to get up on a plane. With the fore/aft balance issue, the boat was underpowered with the 25hp Merc. With one adult it could get up on a plane in a reasonable period of time, but with two adults it was a "tank". I consider the Terhi 4100 inadequate for Winnipesaukee. On a small lake with no chop it might be good for kids, I suppose, but not on Winnipesaukee. Ours had trouble getting out of its own way.
