Thank you! Had a great day out there today but I think we need a bigger anchor.
We tried to anchor at the Margate and it slipped in a stiff breeze. Was getting crowded so I hauled it and made for the channel.
I'm going to take a look at your recommendation in another thread and order one. Ill keep this one for the stern.

I'll be putting my new Mantus to the test tomorrow and will be posting my results. Here's a pic--the Danforth-style is a Seachoice 10E marina freebie.

Get a 15 lb "digger anchor" especially for a Pontoon. No chain needed, self cleaning, had one for years and it works great!

Yesterday, I saw a good reason to buy the biggest pontoon boat you can afford. Not only will passengers stay dryer, you don't have to load passengers on the boat to keep the engine from submerging.

I took your advice and ordered the Digger 15#
I liked the concept of it and also liked the Mantus but your having one "for years" pushed me over to it.
It arrived yesterday and I have some shackles and line (rode) and looked online for the best anchor knot to tie it with...not going to try it until next week due to a busy weekend schedule.
I'll report back here with my experience when I try it out.
Once again, this forum is the best for all things Winni😜

I think you made a great choice especially for a pontoon. The no chain to scratch and mud up your toon and self cleaning feature you will really appreciate after a couple uses. It's sets and holds very easily as well.

Interested in your experiences--not much about it online. The no chain thing sounds interesting in terms of weight, but I've read a lot lately about the chain also being important for abrasion, which I'd not thought much about before.

Lol...my mind was strictly, on anchors and letting folks see how the "different" and "diverse" products and reviews and reports thereof, can be of help in deciding which to buy.
