This attitude, along with a beach that is nearly unusable on weekends, is why I wanted out of Suissevale.

When one of the "old-timers" yelled at my 4-year-old nephew for splashing her - as she sat in a chair she'd placed IN THE WATER - I knew it was time to go. Suissevale has a nice beach that is well maintained but it isn't an especially friendly or welcoming community.

Default Association beaches.

Decades ago when I was looking for associations with beach rights, that was the biggest complaints. The beaches are crowded during season on weekends. My association on Winnisquam beach is crowded only during the holiday weekends. Otherwise the weekends are pretty quiet.

There are some self important entitled people at any place, and there certainly are at Suissevale and Balmoral. We don't stress it much.

Having said that, we enjoy our busy beach immensely and have met some great friends there!

Beaches are sort of like ski areas.....

If you go there on w/e's it will be crowded with mobs, if you go there on weekdays, you'll be by yourself !

My biggest problem with any association is that buying into one you are forfeiting control over your situation. Depending on how obnoxious the rules are that can eventually cramp ones style. Even if the rules now aren't terribly bad there is no way to predict what can change in the future.
