No license is a $93. fine. The F&G like to say "consider it a 'donation' to maintaining the lake".

First of all SAL said HE was driving the boat. He never said He was fishing.
Then we go to binoculars?? I suppose Nh Police use them too, waiting for people to leave a bar?? Then you can't help a kid snagged!! Maybe if the kid falls in and drowns, the NH law requires the undertaker to pay the fishing fine for you. |

Maybe there should be a VIEW TAX when you use binoculars.
Could the binocs give me a fine because a passenger changed into a bathing suit in my boat;(indecent exposure)? I don't remember about the fishing license responsibility being on the boat owner at my Boating safety class. I guess the next time someone gives me a car ride anywhere, the DMV should want me to see their drivers license. |

This is where I heard about the F&G watching before ticketing, I thought I remembered binoculars but they actually filmed them.

I was wacked three years ago, because I was stupid and said first day of the year wanted to get out on the lake(stupid move). Myself, and two cousins on the boat, my cousins boat. All three of us were wacked, thy did observe us from a distance, and once all three had lines in the water they came over. It was stupid of us, and I now have the license. We were respectful and they were to, we took our fines, felt stupid and continued the day because they said we could. We also catch and release though, nothing was confiscated and we have nothing on the boat. I am sure they could do that if you had fish in the well, and you were being a jerk, I am sure they could take everything

I have also never heard of anyone getting a fine for helping a child fish. Any officer who would give a ticket for that would be a heartless fool. Every fish and game officer I have run into has been courteous, and professional. Tell your buddy to get a license and enjoy your day without worries.. Dan

a friend who likes to fish IS visiting soon. (just before the end of the fishing season) I didn't mean to provoke, but the question has obviously done so. Thank you ALL for the responses. |

Only the people that have been witnessed with holding a line in the water are deemed to be fishing, if trolling it is the owner of the boat and those operating it
