Default Home Cookin' at the Lakeside

Although it's not fancy, the Lakeside in Gilford (across from the Walmart Plaza) has good home style cooking. Most of the entrees are under $10, and on Thurs. they have a boiled dinner. Their haddock nugget plate is only $7.25 and the turkey dinner is $9.95. They now serve wine and beer, and all the dinners include a free dish of ice cream for dessert. We've also enjoyed the pot roast, roast pork and their chicken salad at lunch time is some of the best around.

We do breakfast there, lunch there, or sometimes even supper there.

Same owners have the Cooking at the Circle down in Epsom, at what used to be Billy's.

If we go to Concord, we eat in Epsom, and if heading to Laconia or Gilford, we eat at the Lakeside.

There is a third restaurant on rte 106 in Loudon, in a strip mall on the left side of the road heading north, called the Eggshell, but they are only open til 2:30.

Rusty Moose at Alton circle...Tuesday nights is 2 for 15 entree night. Add a couple of beverages and that's about $25.

Not quite lakes region, and not quite $25, but...Thursday nights at Stonehurst Manor in North Conway they have a 2 for $29 menu.

Default Lobster Pound

My wife and I went to The Lobster Pound last night. We certainly busted the $25 threshold but you could easily eat for two there on Mondays for under $25. We had an appetizer, two entrees, a couple of drinks each and got a large cheese pizza to go for our son. The total bill for all that was $46! Great value for the money....just remember to tip based on what the full price would have been.

George's Diner in Meredith. Prices are reasonable and you always get enough to take home for lunch the next day. Sort of a 2 for 1 deal.
