Lakesrider, nothing to worry about as this is routine surgery today. No cut sternum so you'll be back at it in no time and you'll probably have a lot more energy without a leaky valve. What is/was wrong with the valve? |

You'll do just fine. Keep the chin up and recovery will be easy.
ToW oh, don't tell the wife but the doctor might write you a can't mow or paint for a year note. Just don't tell her you asked for the note!!

Good luck & speedy recovery. If it's any consolation, a friend had similar repair surgery a few years ago and he's out and about and causing trouble just as much as before the surgery.

You will be fine LR:
I have been to Mass General. I went there after THREE other stinkin hospitals couldn't get it right....with my "Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm". Mass General got it right the first time they tried..(10 Hours).... and by the time I got there.... they only had hamburger to work with.. That was 14 years ago. No problems since.Mass General is the THE BEST IN THE WORLD. This is not just MY opinion..it is the opinion of their peers....and has been for awhile. NB

This is my first post and I'm pleased that it is to offer you a speedy recovery. I had my prostate removed using the DaVinci Robot at Mt Sinai in Manhatten several years ago. I was on my way home in less than 24 hours and only took one pain pill after the operation. I never experienced ED and within a month I had no inconenance problems. According to my experience, DaVinci is the way to go for many procedures as long as the surgeon is well trained. My doctor was David Samadi who is also on the FOX news medical "A" team.

Sorry, but having worked in cardiac care, MGH is not the best. And the best Children's hospital is CHOP, not Boston. I say this as choosing the right surgeon or hospital can be all the difference in the world. |
