I know "lakes region" was specified in the original post, but if there was a day where the weather wasn't fabulous, I'd make the trek to Brown's. That's if you're looking for lobster. Bring a tablecloth, some wine, crackers and cheese and have a party without the mess!

I also LOVE the suggestion of letting Market Basket cook the lobsters, if that's convenient. Nothing like getting nice 'n' messy on your own porch or deck or kitchen overlooking the lake!

Default Seafood

Johnson's is good for ice cream...not seafood. Overpriced and average.

Dockside in Alton Bay has excellent fish and chips, haddock and combo platters. It is our favorite and the most reasonable to feed a family of five.

Makris in Concord is excellent as well.
