Knowing the Northern end of the lake well, there are all types of route to take to get to the various parts of the lake.

If your going to Wolfeboro / Alton area, no doubt about it, out through the Barbers pole.

If your going to Meredith / Gifford area, I suggest going through the Hole in the Wall, and out between Sandy and Long Island.

If Center Harbor is on tap, I suggest learning to navigate down and around Pistol, coming between backside Dow Island, and Moultonboro Neck, out past the Triangle, and Under the Bridge to LI.....

The time it takes to make these runs depends on weather you troll along or hop up on plane...
