If you wanted to get a waiver (like they did for the decibel level of the boat races years ago) you might investigate that first.
Speed limits would not likely be an issue. You're generally racing a circular/irregular course with a dozen other boats. Between the wakes and semi-frequent turns, speeds above 45MPH wouldn't be very common.

They have successfully run the vintage boat races in Wolfeboro for years. Special waivers of such rules as speed limits and 150' rule can be obtained for special events. There should be no issue with organizing a jet ski race as well. You could get manufactures and/or some organized group such as an owner’s organization or racing club involved. Sounds like fun.

I think something like this would be a lot of fun to watch and would draw quite a few people especially if done near the mainland such as the Weirs. Lord knows the Weirs could certainly use the boost!

I say go for it!

I agree, hold it in an area where non boaters can also watch it and local merchants can gain a benefit as well. That way you'll have more people pulling for you to be able to have it.

The new Weirs boardwalk has a terrific view of the water, and most likely a pwc race would be very welcome by the Weirs. Ditto that, double big-time for a performance boat race course, too!
