Default Wow

This thread is crazy, Oh my!

Back to the topic...
I had been under the impression that VK's Jams and Jellies were homemade. Was that ever true, and is it now? I thought that was unusual, but nice if true!

I've always been for breakfast, but always been very pleased with it. (And, I'm a local who still often mistakenly calls it Country Cookin', btw)

Are they known for any 'signature' dishes that I should try?

Default I don't know about the signature dishes but the

Swordfish and prime rib and turkey are delicious. I think the chicken parm is delicious even though there was not enough chicken for me the last time. I know someone who orders the sirloin tips I think they are called and they sure look good. My issue was that some of the portions seemed smaller. It was never that the food was not good. The food has always been delicious.

Default buuuurp

In the interest of scientific study, I have had breakfast at the VK twice in the last two days. Since I am now falling asleep at work and wish I was wearing sweatpants, I can assure you the breakfast portions remain unaltered.

I plan on taking my kids in for dinner at some point in the next week and will order chicken parm whether I want it or not. I will provide photographic evidence of said chicken for all to see. We will disguise ourselves in the interest of a fair study. For breakfast we went as 'local girl with her visiting sister, bro-in-law, and twin babies who threw pancakes all over the place'. I will come up with something different for the parm experiment.

Stay tuned folks, this could be an expose worthy of Geraldo.

I have been going to the VK for years........even before its "new" home. Never, ever heard it called Country Cookin...Vk is so much easier!! Best place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. (they deal well with children too)
