Default Diner Exhibit

Hi All,

If you are nostalgic for the days of diners, you might like to mark your calendars and attend the Laconia Historical Society’s exhibit on old diners beginning on October 25 at the Laconia Library. Anyone who once enjoyed that wonderful dining experience should make it a “must see”. Remember the Shore Diner on Union Avenue in Lakeport? If you do, you also remember Kenneth “Spider” Osgood who was the short order cook on the night shift and put on a nightly show for customers. Folks came from miles around just to sit and watch his fancy footwork, while enjoying some down-home, good food or just a coffee or a hot dog.

The exhibit will include other diners, as well, but the Shore Diner will be well represented with numerous photos circa 1950. Check out the Laconia Historical Society website for a short video clip of Spider at his craft, along with a recent audio in his own words. Details of the exhibit may be found there, as well.

I am new to this forum and haven’t mastered the art of posting a working link, but the URL is http://www1.laconiahistorical.org/index.htm
