Your link states more information to follow (soon). I suggest waiting with patience for that information, or contact town hall by phone and ask the press what be.

Is anybody else concerned about turnout amidst CV? The votes at this meeting are going to be based on the majority that show-up to the fairground. As I understand it, most voters in town are seniors and are being careful. Will we be out to vote?
Regarding issues, if I'm correct (which is a big if) the M-boro Rec Center has failed on 3 ballots. I was under the impression that after being on 3 ballots, the laws in NH state that it's done and done, there can not be a 4th vote. Anybody have insight on this? |

There are no limitations on how often a warrant article can be voted on at annual town meetings, especially petitioned articles, like this year's MoBo article 6 rec. center.
Will covid-19 effect a low turnout for the older demographic vote, in opposition to article 6, ... probably. Will the low turnout give article 6, a high probability of getting the required 2/3rds yes vote, to pass ... probably. |

Our cherished pure democracy is really not very democratic. It imposes an unfair toll on parents, those who have to work at night, and now those at risk of covid. |

I thought that the bond issues for extraordinary items (rec center) was purposely left off this years agenda due to the pandemic. Are you saying it is back on? If so, I agree it dramatically slants the table towards those willing to risk this drive in style 3-5 hr marathon of a town meeting. I would strongly oppose having these large ticket items on the ballot this year (if they are).

Moultonborough articles 5 and 6 are on the published warrant. There is no legal authority to remove.
However, the two articles can be voted to be "tabled" to next year, if voted accordingly by the legislative body (the voters). This can be motioned by any voter, at the annual town meeting. Only a majority vote to table is required to pass. A 2/3rds majority is required for either article to pass, if not tabled. |

The proponents of Article 6 need to be reasonable and fair by tabling it until next year. But will they...????? My guess is that they see this as a golden opportunity to advance their petition plans with the Pandemic causing many to miss TM. Kind of like a perfect storm ! Sad.....we can only hope that all will be reasonable and table both 5 and 6 until next year when there can be a reasonable debate.
