Just took my 16 year old leather jacket (was super pricey when I bought it, lined with Thinsulate, hip length) to LaBelle's Shoe Repair in Laconia. The lining of the jacket was completely trashed. If anyone saw it hanging up anywhere, they would have thought a rag picker owned it! LaBelle's put in a new lining, repaired a couple small tears, did some other good stuff all for $75 bucks!! Granted, the cuffs are a bit worn, but overall it will last another 15 years, especially with a new lining. They even took out the label of the manufacturer, and re-stitched it into the new lining. Excellent work. Very nice people.

Is that the one downtown near the old train station?
I recall talking to the owner there a few years ago and he was trying to find someone to take on as an apprentice so he could eventually turn over the business and retire. He did good work. |
