Default Just had to say hi

Hey everyone. Greetings from Raleigh NC. I am working late at an off duty police job and got inspired to say hello while watching "On Golden Pond". I have been reading on here for months and my first attempt to get registered did not go through, but now I am finally logged in. I have been coming to the lake since I was born and it is my most favorite place on earth. My grandparents have had the lake house since the 60's and have been retired on the lake since '86 and live near Buzzells Cove. I am an ice fishing addict and have only missed one derby in all these years. It is hard to get to lake as often now seeing as how I now reside in North Carolina. I used to live in Massachusetts, but moved to start my law enforcement career five years ago when I was 21. I was very excited to have found this site so I can get a daily lake fix of some kind. My fiance (getting hitched next month) and I plan on ending back up there to live at the lake no later than my retirement in 20+ years or maybe sooner if I can get a job with one of the lakes regions police departments. Looking forward to talking with you all.

Default Hi to a "Southerner"

Welcome! You are like all of us.. We love this area. Our family also loves the Atlantic Ocean beaches in NC. We actually leave the lake for a week at Holden Beach in NC. We have had 7 inches of rain today but I did notice you folks are under a tornado warning. Guess severe weather is everywhere.
Welcome again...

Thanks for the warm welcome. I check the web cams all the time and more than once a day starting early December to watch the ice form. I saw the news this morning showing all that rain. The lake will surely be full. We had a good T-storm earlier with high winds and pea sized hail. Only lasted for 30 minutes or so. Now it's bright and sunny, go figure . A couple of twisters were spotted in the clouds, but nothing touched down. I hope we are not in for another bad hurricane season which starts very soon. Happy Mothers day!
