The volume of new posts, reported posts, emails and complaints is very high but I have the extra time now so it isn't too bad to deal with. After surviving the speed limit wars on this forum it takes a lot to stress me out. |

It's now veered a little too much and I'm going to be more aggressive about moderating vitriolic posts and posters who turn too many threads into political bickering.
My concern is that the politics takes attention away from the legitimate topics discussed on this site and discourages less aggressive posters. The potential effects of this crisis on so many aspects of the Lakes Region would seem to be endless. Let's all talk about those and leave the national politics to the thousands of other sites dedicated to that. When I look through the COVID-19 forum I see a lot about *****. I don't see much about these important Lakes Region questions: 1. Is anyone finding TP in the Lakes Region? 2. How are you larger families getting along? 3. Is your Internet and Netflix working OK? 4. Can you recommend a movie or series to watch? 5. Are you gaining or losing weight? More seriously: 1. How is LRGH handling the crisis? 2. Have the local schools fully switched to on-line learning? How is that working? 3. What if you had a house closing scheduled? 4. Are local plumbers, electricians and other service people still doing house calls? I can think of a lot more. Don |

Well Don, since you asked, Lakes Region General Hospital announced today that they will furlough 500 employees. The hospital was already struggling financially and this situation just made it more difficult.
