I had to travel by the Mt. Major trailhead on Saturday and Sunday. I never recall seeing as many cars parked on Rt. 11 as I did over this weekend.
Today I passed by at 4:45pm, heading west on Rt. 11. By then, the majority of cars parked on Rt. 11 had left. I was shocked and disgusted over the amounts of litter that these slobs left on the sides of the highway. I’m sure these hikers would be the first ones to bang the drum to claim they are stewards of the environment, etc. Who do they think is going to pick up after them - their parents? Sickening. |

As I was riding my motorcycle north this weekend I traversed a stretch of road with blue trash bags every 200’ or so.
Somebody had cleaned up the roadside and the bags were waiting to be collected. I was amazed at the volume of trash that had been harvested. I just don’t understand how people can just toss it out their window.
