I found out that Martel's is not selling bait any more! Where can I get live bait near Laconia / Gilford Area?

Try the little market / deli just south of the bridge on Winnisquam. They usually have live bait pretty much all year but as mentioned AJ's in Meredith is probably your best shot.

winnisquam market by mosquito bridge, aj's in meredith, or the irving station at the alton traffic circle if you're coming from that direction.
i went to martel's during deer season to check in a deer, come to find out they don't do it anymore. they don't check turkeys in either. i hadn't been there in a good while and was pretty saddened by what i saw. the place is no longer a sporting goods/bait shop. it's more like a junk yard, looks like sanford and son over there now. it's a complete mess.. junk outboards and parts all over the place, old displays from inside the store, old snow plows, old boats, you name it. junk.. everywhere. such a shame.. it used to be a great little shop. old man martel must be spinning. |
