Wooldridge Boats

Anyone ever heard of these boats?? Looks like the perfect island boat!!

As soon as I saw the picture I said to myself, Pacific Northwest. Then I clicked on "Contact Us" and learned I was spot on. That style is hugely popular in that area. There's a bunch of builders making aluminum boats in that style out there.

It really is a pretty cool boat. I love all the room it has in the pilot house. Looks like most people are running dual outboards and getting 50+ mph out of them!! I also love the large up swept bow to handle large chop and waves. Now if only I had another dock at my camp...

If you've watched this season of the Discovery Channel show Axe Men, there's a group logging an island off the coast of Alaska. This is the type of boat they use to get to the island and back. Definitely a neat looking boat.

I like that style of boat. A multi purpose, practicle style with character. I am guessing somewhere in the range of $50-$60K for one with a full cabin etc. ?
Maybe the town of Moultonborough should look at this boat for the FD.
I was told the other day that the FD is asking for $163,000.00 in the town budget this year for a new fire boat. I went and looked at that towns warrant article listed on their website and sure enough. $163,000.00 for a fire boat.
It of course does't explain what kind of boat or how it will be equiped but I can't help but wonder what kind of a utility type boat costs $163K.

The question is not really what type of utility boat cost 163K. The boat is only one part of the equation. The boat has to be outfitted, and that can get expensive. As a Moultonborough tax payer I would love to learn more about this. Considering the boats they have been using over the years, have been used boats that the town has converted over, I am all for the town to get an actual fire boat designed for the purpose.

Silver Streak is another boat that has that look. If you like the northwest style, Osprey makes a neat looking boat. Not a lot of deck space in the rear, or at least as much as I wanted.

What a great island boat! I'm practicaly drooling thinking of all the plywood I could carry in one trip! Tons of space inside for groceries when it's raining and blowing a gale, too.

I really like the ruggedness, utility, and utter lack of maintenance that comes with bare aluminum. It's the ideal material for building a boat that you need/want to use all the time.
