Seven with a possibilty of 8. Cannot tell for sure from my PC, but in the group of frogs, the one on the left almost looks like a second set of eyes poking the surface where his right leg should be. I don't know, 7 solid though.

I was scootin' acrosst that vicinity the other night with the truck window down. Balmy night and the country station was on, not that you'd know with the ruckus they were raisin'

Peepers - Little critters BIG sound - a spring peeper only measures 2 to 3.7 cm long but can produce a call of 110 decibels. Makes me think back on my heavy metal days!!!

I'm still hearen some peeps now, late May. I do like listening to them off in the distance, but do feel a little sad for the ones still hopen to court a mate.

Seems like to ones still serenading in the darkness are like the audio-visual club, pimpley outcasts of the nocturnal amphibious set.

Here's to hoping that they all find love.

Thanks for posting the You Tube clip, CrawfordCentury. Come next January, when the temps are hovering near zero and the cold north wind is blowing past my window, I will listen to that clip and it will give me hope that spring will come again. Such sweet sounds.

There was a radio host on WBZ-AM some years back that used to play an audio clip of peepers in the dead of winter - an auditory light at the end of the tunnel, as it were.

Think his name was Norm Abelson or some such (but not the "This old House guy). Nice fella and fun to listen to. Since passed away.
