From Foster's today. (Off Birch Hill Road on the southern side of Merrymeeting Lake not Ridge as in the article)
"NEW DURHAM — A New York City developer wants to retain development rights to a large-scale housing project if the town cannot produce several million dollars to purchase a conservation easement on a 2,069-acre parcel overlooking Merrymeeting Lake." Full Story: http://www.fosters.com/apps/pbcs.dll...290/-1/FOSNEWS

It sounds like the developer is being fair here. I hope the town comes up with the money to conserve this land....or at least most of it. I'm all for using the power of zoning to keep NH rural.
